Method
- Measure out the vanilla ice cream, milk, ice cubes, and bourbon or rum.
- Add the ice cream, milk, ice cubes, and alcohol into the blender.
- Secure the lid on the blender and blend on high speed until the mixture is smooth and frosty, about 30-45 seconds. You should see it turn into a thick, icy slurry with a creamy texture.
- Stop the blender and check the consistency. If it's too thick, add a splash of milk and pulse a few times; if too thin, add a few more ice cubes and blend again.
- Once the mixture is thick, creamy, and frozen-looking with tiny ice crystals, pour it into chilled glasses.
- Garnish with a small sprig of mint or a slice of citrus if desired, and serve immediately with a straw or spoon for scooping.
Notes
For a richer flavor, try adding a dash of vanilla extract or top with whipped cream and a cherry for presentation.
